3,2,1 Chin it! This is part of our whole school whiteboard routine. Across the school our students use mini whiteboards throughout the day to demonstrate their learning, ideas and thinking. Our staff use the cues of reset it, write it, hover it, chin it, park it or tick/it fix it to indicate to students what they should be doing with their mini white board. Having the same white board routine across all of our classrooms means that students and staff are all familiar with how we do this at Balnarring Primary School.
On Tuesday 9 June our Year 1 and 2 classrooms had Grandparents and special person visitors come into classrooms. It was wonderful to have the wisdom of Grandparents and special people to help students further understand how things change over time. There were a number of great things happening including Grandparents bringing in toys from when they went to school, playing traditional games such as knuckles and jacks. Students interviewed their grandparents to further understand what going to school was like when they were children. Thank you to everybody who came along.
I am very pleased to share that the warm coat collection that was organised by Oli M from Year 5 was very successful, with 38 coats donated by our school. Oli was able to take these coats to the Westernport Community Support Centre where they will be given to people in need. Thank you Oli for taking action for such an important cause and to everybody who donated warm coats.
Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the Division Cross Country Event held at Hastings Foreshore on Wednesday 3 June. We are very proud of these students for representing our school. Well done to; Alexander B, Quentin C, Sienna C, Bowie D, Parker G, Georgina G, Lily H, Charlotte J, Lexi K, Lachie L, Otis P, Lachlan R and Ziggy W.
Further congratulations to Ziggy W from Year 6 who represented our school at the Southern Metro Cross Country on Wednesday 17 June. It takes a huge effort to compete at this level and I was incredibly proud to see Ziggy demonstrate the Balnarring Way out on the track at Hastings Foreshore. Congratulations once again Ziggy!
