It was lovely to see children leaving classrooms at the end of the school day yesterday with their bundles of hot cross buns. Our Year 1 students visited the Red Hill Baker to learn about how the buns are made and decorated them. Well done to our Year 1 students and thank you to all families who purchased through the school as part of this fundraising activity. Thank you also to The Red Hill Baker for hosting all the Year 1s this week to make Hot Cross Buns. The buns are delicious and we appreciate Jill, Ray, Jess and Lucy from the Red Hill Baker for their partnership with our school.
I am aware that our Year 2 students have an Easter Egg Hunt planned at The Commons on Thursday and today (Wednesday) I joined our Foundation students for a visit to the Balnarring Pre School. It was wonderful to see them get into all of the play activity as if they had never left. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of their first term at Primary School.
Over the school holidays there are some grounds maintenance scheduled to take place on our school site as well as works for new flooring in our Year 1 classrooms (this will be the same as we have in the Foundation and Year 2 classrooms) to be installed.
Our School Council is up and running for 2025. I am pleased to confirm now that the School Council Election process and office bearer roles are finalised that our School Council members this year are:
Georga Bryant – President
Carmen Brancatisano – Vice President
Kimberly Lith – Treasurer
Danae Maini – Parent Representative
Krysha Renison – Staff Representative
Ben Cornall – Staff Representative
Joanne Munn – Community Representative
Matthew Hine – Community Representative
I would like to thank all of these staff, parents and community members for volunteering their time to work with me on overseeing the Governance of our school. I look forward to a prosperous year of School Council this year.
I am pleased to share that the School Review process the school has been participating in this term is now complete. The process has been a great opportunity for groups of students, staff and parents/carers to provide feedback around what they value most about our school and what they would like to see moving forward. The next step will be to develop the next 4 year strategic plan, followed by an Annual Implementation plan. Work will begin on this next term.
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful school holiday break. Thank you for a fantastic first term of the 2025 school year. I am really looking forward to seeing you all when school resumes next term.
